A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, as well
as York Academy of Arts, she received many awards and
scholarships. After moving to Atlanta, she continued her
study at the Atlanta College of Art. This early recognition
opened the door for a rich and fulfilling art career. Over
the past twenty-five years she has been in more than 50
group exhibitions and has had at least 30 one-woman shows.
She has won many awards for her work and is well respected
throughout the art community.
Donna thinks of herself as a painter first and foremost. Her
love of color and large gesture strokes lend themselves to
her expressive imagery. Donna first built a following for
her work on the national level with a series of dancers in
pastel. It has been said that to see the quick fresh stokes
of pastel gives the viewer the feeling of dancers leaping
right off the canvas into mid-air. This understanding of the
spirit of dance caught the eye of the director of the Boshoi
Ballet while visiting in the US.
